Kicking off the Olympics, the Royal Bank of Canada has donated $25,000 to the help after school programs for native children.

Canada’s former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, Phil Fontaine, was the guest of honour.

And as Observer Radio’s Saeda Raghe reports, Fontaine says the Olympics will showcase the importance of Native people to Canada.
