Sports from the 6 aims to entertain and educate Toronto sports fans on all the happenings and current events in the sports world. Featuring Sports Journalism students Alykhan Ravjiani, Duane Turner and Flip Livingstone, and behind-the-scenes producer Stacey Dicion, the show is your weekly fix of the hottest headlines and provides insight into the industry’s biggest events.

Segment 1: We start talking about the declining AL East and its changing dynamics, before moving to the Blue Jays and their team heading into season. We touch on topics like youth, depth and some of the team’s gaping holes.

Segment 2:  We dive into talking about Alex Rodriguez, and what to expect from him coming off the suspension with the Yankees. The conversation turns to some of the other teams in baseball, with a specific eye on the NL West and the changes made by the Dodgers, Padres and Giants.

Segment 3: Looking at the NL East, beginning with Miami Marlins, the massive contract given to Giancarlo Stanton, and the talent that they’ve developed. Jamie also talks about the New York Mets wave of young talent that’s been hurt by injuries, and the Nationals who are the clear favorites to win the division.

Segment 4: Talking about the Cubs, their rise back to relevancy with a newer front office, young stars and whether or not day games effect the team’s chances to win. The CBA and Kris Bryant’s demotion is also discussed by the roundtable.

Segment 5: The kids are alright! We talk some more about the Blue Jays youngsters and the mindset they’ve taken towards competing at the game’s highest level.

Segment 6: Jamie and the table talk about new commissioner Rob Manfred’s potential adjustments to the game in terms of defensive shifts, relocation and expansion.

Segment 7: We close the show asking Jamie about Montreal, the mini-series between the Reds and Blue Jays and what that could mean for the city’s future in professional baseball.
