Sports from the 6 aims to entertain and educate Toronto sports fans on all the happenings and current events in the sports world. Featuring Sports Journalism students Alykhan Ravjiani, Duane Turner and Flip Livingstone, and behind-the-scenes producer Stacey Dicion, the show is your weekly fix of the hottest headlines and provides insight into the industry’s biggest events.

Segment 1: Joined this week by Faizal Khamisa of Sportsnet, we talk about his journey, and overcoming life’s obstacles and get to where he is today.

Segment 2: We move on to recap and dissect the first two games between the Raptors and Wizards, debating the strategy and contemplating adjustments for the team to get back into the series. The team predicts if the Raptors can win a game in the series, and what the result means to the core of the team going forward. Spoiler Alert: There may or may not be some Drake talk in here!

Segment 3: We move on to talk some NHL playoffs, and what we’ve seen so far. We break down the Canadian teams as well as what has happened in Pittsburgh and whether or not that team needs to break up its core.

Segment 4: Our last segment talks about Champions league, and the dream matchups that we could have in the semis and finals. We move on to Toronto FC and their search for a new president as well as the renovations at BMO field. Faizal, a long time TFC season ticket holder, offers his advice and opinion on the team. We finish the soccer talk with the Montreal Impact and their amazing accomplishments so far in the CONCACAF tournament.

Segment 5: We talk some Blue Jays and the swagger that they’ve shown to close the episode. Faizal weighs in on the mix of youth and veterans and the potential the team has to take over a mediocre AL EAST.
