ABOUT NFB DOCSUMMIT

2007 NFB Doc Summit

Originally Held: Friday, April 27: 09:00 AM - 01:00 PM

The National Film Board is pleased to host the 4th Annual Doc Summit, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing us all and to brainstorm on what the industry will look like when it’s working best.

With a renewed focus and format, the 2007 NFB Doc Summit will be a town-hall forum, featuring presentations outlining strategic solutions, submitted for wider discussion. These presentations will be based on vision statements that have been sent in from directors, producers and distributors.

Participants of the 2007 NFB Doc Summit are invited to discuss and respond to proposals on such themes as challenges in financing (cash-flow, tax credits), new production practices (copyright, environmental practices) and distribution and broadcast models.

The dialogue will be moderated by Monique Simard, General Director and Producer at Productions Virage, VP of the Board of at the Cinémathèque québécoise, and Founding Member of the Observatoire du documentaire/Documentary Network.

We look forward to spirited discussion, an instructive session with the ultimate goal of producing practical strategies building towards a vibrant documentary culture and market in this country.

Stay tuned, following Hot Docs, for the content of The NFB Doc Summit, presented on-line via the Hot Docs and NFB websites.
