Episode 3 breakdown

KESSEL COMMENTS, LEAFS TRADES, NHL TRADE DEADLINE, STANLEY CUP FAVOURITES

Check out our NEW TWITTER PAGE — @SportsFromThe6 — re-designed courtesy of Stacey Dicion.

Segment 1: Discussing the Phil Kessel comments made to the media defending Dion Phaneuf, and the potential reasons why the comments were made now rather than earlier in the year.

Segment 2:  We then go through the moves made by the Leafs heading into the deadline, discussing the impact of Daniel Winnik on the young players, salary cap implications of David Clarkson in the present as well as future, and the Marlies adding veteran leadership with T.J. Brennan.

Segment 3: We move onto the Leafs actual deadline day moves, highlighting the financial flexibility created to acquire picks for Korbinian Holzer and Olli Jokinen, players who didn’t fit into the team’s long term plans.

Segment 4: We go into the rest of the major moves at the NHL trade deadline, picking our most improved teams after the deadline. Among the topics of conversation, the Ducks adding pieces, the Red Wings increasing team depth, the Coyotes plan to build with youth and Chicago loading up for another run.

Segment 5: We finish the show picking our Stanley Cup finalists, and want you to do the same by sending your picks to @SportsFromThe6 on Twitter.

SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!
