Expressions of Black Power: Seeing It, Knowing It, Embracing It

This year’s virtual Black History Month showcase highlights students’ expressions of their personal experience of Black Power, and includes a wide range of artistic mediums that range from dance to singing performances, photography to sculptures, and graphic design to spoken word.

Before the global pandemic, Centennial College’s School of Communications, Media, Arts and Design hosted a live commemoration and celebratory event for Black History Month. It has been a powerful platform for our students’ unique voices in supporting transformative change and historical truth.

But this year, like last year, we took our annual event online.
