Centennial College’s School of Communications, Media, Arts and Design again remembers Canada’s veterans with a full ceremony at the Story Arts Centre on Friday, November 10.
This year’s theme is WOMEN AND REMEMBRANCE, and features four female serving members of our armed forces:
- Major Lisa Nodwell, Canadian Army. Roya. l Regiment of Canadian Artillery. Afghanistan veteran. Now at the Canadian Forces Staff College.
- 2nd Lieutenant Jade Bloemen, third year at Royal Military College, Kingston. She is a trained armoured vehicle driver.
- Petty Officer 1 Joan Emode, Canadian Navy. Formerly with HMCS Winnipeg. Now a career manager with the Primary Reserve.
- Sgt. Alisha Fisher (MB), Royal Canadian Air Force. Aircraft mechanic instructor on CF18 fighters, Cold Lake, Alberta. Medal of Bravery winner.
We will also welcome the Colour Guard of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10 (Todmorden).
Our ceremony is hosted by Professor Malcolm Kelly (Sports Journalism), military novelist, editor, and writer.The live broadcast is produced by the students of our Broadcast – Film, Television, Digital Media and Radio program.
